Terms & Conditions, Oryx Adventures LLC


  1. The trip is organized by Oryx Adventures LLC.  Our company is registered in the Sultanate of Oman under CR 125106.
  2. For all extended trip involving an overnight stay, a deposit of 10% is needed to establish and hold a reservation. The full balance is due and payable ten (10) days before start of the tour. Your booking may be considered cancelled should the full balance not be received by Oryx Adventures by that time.  Full day and half day trips do not require a deposit and payment is accepted on the day of the tour.
  3. In case you’d wish to cancel your trip we must receive notice in writing. If notice is received 30 days prior to the start you’ll be eligible for a full refund. Cancellations between 30 – 10 days will have a 10% cancellation charge (no refund of deposit ). No refunds will be considered for cancellation within 10 days of the start of the trip. We strongly recommend that you obtain trip cancellation insurance from an insurance company to cover the risk.
  4. You are responsible for ensuring that you arrive in a good enough shape for your adventure. For the more demanding tours we reserve the right to insist on a medical certificate from your doctor stating that you are in a suitable condition. We also reserve the right to downgrade the tour to a less demanding level from the chosen level (1-5) if we consider you not fit enough or your skill level is not aligned with the conditions on tour.
  5. Oryx Adventures reserves the right to cancel any tour if the number of booked participants does not meet the minimum required to run the trip. If that occurs, your payment will be refunded in full or we’ll offer to transfer you to another date to your satisfaction.
  6. Oryx Adventures has the sole discretion to change the itinerary should it become necessary due to weather, local conditions, politics or various other reasons. No refund will be considered in the event of any such changes.
  7. Oryx Adventures insists that due to the remoteness of some of our tours/locations the participant takes out a personal travel insurance policy that will also cover medical evacuation. Proof is requested before commencing the tour. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure suitable insurance cover is taken out prior to commencement of the trip.
  8. Although we’ll do our utmost to guarantee the safety of you and your belongings, Oryx Adventures is not responsible for participant’s personal effects if they are lost, stolen or destroyed. Oryx Adventures cannot be held liable for any such loss.
  9. Oryx Adventures cannot be responsible for any accidents during the tour. It is agreed and understood that Oryx Adventures are not the guardians of any tour participants’ safety and that they, cannot be held liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the tour, which might result in injury, death or other damage to the customer, his property or his family heirs or assignees.
  10. Third party insurance is provided by Oryx Adventures which does not cover any damages caused by tour participants.  Due to the nature of the tours, damage from dropping the bikes off-road, stone chips, blemishes, punctures etc. are accepted by Oryx Adventures as part of wear and tear and are covered in the rental agreement. Tour participants will however be responsible for all damages in excess of 200 OMR or any damages that occur due to misuse and/or abuse of the bikes, including but not limited to accidents caused by excessive speed, stunts, jumps, over revving of the engine, up to the full value of the motorcycle of 4,500 OMR
  11. Should any tour participant be involved in a road traffic accident, the Royal Omani Police must be informed immediately and all persons involved in the accident must remain on scene until the Police have issued an accident claim form.  Should tour participants be held at fault, they will be liable for all repair costs up to full value of the motorcycle of 4,500 OMR
  12. Oryx Adventures is not obliged to replace a motorcycle damaged by a participant should they be held at fault or due to inappropriate use /misuse as described in items 10. & 11.
  13. Should any tour participant fail to comply with local traffic laws, or does not practice safe group travel practices as described by the tour leader and by guidelines provided by Oryx Adventures, the agreement with the rider may be cancelled and riding privileges will be suspended.
  14. Riding privileges will be suspended from anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Participants agree to refrain from alcoholic beverages until the motorcycles have been parked for the night.  No refunds will be offered or given to participants who have had their riding privileges suspended.
  15. Tour participants are liable for payment of all charges arising from speeding fines, traffic offenses and parking offenses involving the bike during the tour period, including our administration fee.
  16. Tour participants who intend to operate a motorcycle provided by Oryx Adventures must be at least 25 years old and must have a valid full motorcycle license legal for use in Oman (An international driving license for example. No learner licenses allowed). Participants must also attest that they have at least 2 years of experience riding a motorcycle of similar size or larger than the motorcycle that will be provided by Oryx Adventures.
  17. The participant is solely responsible for the ignition key to their motorbike during the normal course of the trip. Should the key be lost or stolen due to negligence or failure to follow the tour leader’s instructions the participant is responsible for the cost of replacement up to a maximum of OMR 100.
  18. Unexpected and uncontrollable situations may require last minute change of a motorcycle including after the trip has begun. This may include, but is not limited to mechanical failure, collision, damage and theft.
  19. Motorcycling can be dangerous. Oryx Adventures insist that our minimum safety standards for protective clothing be met. For all road based tours, motorcycle helmets, motorcycle gloves, abrasion resistant motorcycle jacket and suitable eye protection must be worn at all times whilst moving. For all off-road based tours, protective equipment shall include motorcycle helmet, motorcycle gloves, abrasion resistant jacket with armour, abrasion resistant motorcycle pants with armour, suitable eye protection, Calf length MX or Enduro based motorcycle boots.  A limited amount of rental equipment is available upon request from Oryx Adventures for use by participants should they not be able to provide their own.  Rental equipment charges are 15 OMR per day.  Oryx Adventures reserves the right to cancel any tour should the participants not be able to meet the minimum safety standards listed above.


Acceptance of Tours Terms and Conditions


  1. I have read and accepted the terms and conditions of Oryx Adventures L.L.C. I am aware that motorcycling can be dangerous. I am aware that traffic conditions, roads, tracks, weather and other conditions as well as the actions of other members of the trip can influence these risks. I fully agree to accept those risks.
  2. I am an experienced, responsible and healthy motorcyclist with a valid motorcycle license. I further agree and understand that Oryx Adventures, are not the guardians of my safety. They cannot be held liable or accountable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the operation of my participation in this trip which might result in injury, death or other damage to me, my property or my family.
