Part 1: Departure
We will meet early morning for a brief introduction to the tour and to set up the bikes to your personal preference. Once kitted up, your mini adventure begins. As soon as we leave Muscat, we hit the twisty mountain passes on the way towards Yiti and Wadi Mayh.
Once past Yiti we will travel along graded super highway through the foot of the Hajar Mountain range with its’s magnificent views and vistas. The scenery is some of the most breathtaking in Oman. Once out of the Wadi it’s time for a welcome break with some locally sourced Sharwayma and sweet Karak tea.
After your break, we’ll take the back roads to Wadi al Arbeieen for your introduction to steep ascents and descents and along the flowing wadis of Oman. The roads are well graded gravel but the scale of the mountains can make them seem a little more daunting than they actually are. A little training is always provided to make sure you are getting the best out of your day.Once reaching this hidden treasure, there is the opportunity to have a swim in the natural pools before heading back to Muscat.
Once reaching this hidden treasure, there is the opportunity to have a swim in the natural pools and try a little cliff diving if you want to really scare yourself. The water here is cool all year round and many of the pools are perfect for non swimmers.
After we are done playing in the water, it’s time to start heading back via the remainder of Wadi Al Arbeieen, down to Dibab. Once at Dibabe we start heading back to Muscat via the coastal road. Depending on time, we will may have the chance for one last Wadi. Wadi Aday is a real mix of geography with as many different type of rock formation as you are ever likely to see.
Once the mountains end, it’s a short run back to base in Muscat for well deserved tea and medals. It will have been a long day, but one of the most rewarding ways to see Oman in just a short period of time.
